Bio

I am an artist at heart.

Ever since I was little I knew that expressing myself through visuals was a passion of mine. I used to illustrate stories about "My Pet Dog" and doodle in class about my teacher's latest topic. One of my fondest memories comes from when I was learning how to write in cursive in Mr. Kirk's 3rd grade class. He put shaving cream on our desks so we could practice writing with our fingers. For me, that just became a new medium for drawing. While growing up I experimented with ceramics, sculpting, painting, drawing, and even making clothes.

When the time came for college, as appealing as art school was, my mind was blinded by the unfortunate perception that the life of an artist was that of a starving one. As a result, I opted for a school with "more options." After much soul searching, the passion prevailed and I ended up studying Communications and Visual Art.

I graduated with the prospects of becoming an editor. Soon after, I landed a foot-in-the-door job at a national TV network which quickly became the experience that changed my life. I was exposed to the realm of motion graphics and had a boss who gave me the opportunity of a lifetime to design for the network with little experience in the industry. During this period, I had the honor of being mentored by some extremely talented and generous people that I will forever be grateful for. Thank you for that!

After a couple of years of learning and growing at the network TV level, I decided to venture out and explore new opportunities. I freelanced for a while, hopping between New York and Miami for jobs. Those were hectic times but definitely fun!

Currently, I'm working as an interactive designer at an advertising/marketing agency, where my focus is more on web design, but has still allowed me to frequently practice motion design. It has also been a very interesting learning experience that I am extremely grateful for.

Things have been great and I'm looking forward to seeing what's next!
